Write a humourous bit if ya like. :) Entwidomela: Male Anthro Lion ========================================= Interview with Ent in the March 00 issue of Young Lion Magazine: YLM: Thanks for being here, Entwidomela. ENT: Thank you- and call me Ent. Everyone calls me Ent. YLM: What does your name mean? Is it Swahili? ENT: It means He Who Greets With Fire. It's Setswani, not Swahili. Kinda pretentious sounding isn't it? (laugh) But a good name for a lion I think. I lifted it from a National Geographic documentary. YLM: So tell us a little about you. ENT: Um.. well. I'm 29, married with three cats, an artist/graphic designer by trade. But I'm thinking about going back to Uni. YLM: Oooh- you used a slash in your occupation. (laugh)What would you be taking at University? ENT: I haven't made up my mind yet. (grin) But I gotta get away from the art thing. It has lost it's charm, shall we say. YLM: Okay. What about hobbies? ENT: I'm into roleplaying and games of all sorts, anime, art, some sci-fi, Paganism, nature and of course furrydom. YLM: When and how did you get into furry? ENT: Hmm. Like many I say I've always been a fur. But when did I know it? Oh about 1997. I got more into furry comics and art, I discovered mucking, and then there was that documentary which really was pivotal for me. YLM: What's your favorite game? ENT: Chase the Human. (grin) YLM: (laugh) Okay. What's your favorite color? ENT: Come now. That's just silly. YLM: Okayokay. What about music? ENT: Oh I like all sorts of music. Far too much to list here. YLM: Sure. ========================================= Llewelyn: Male Foxmorph ========================================= I found furry about 6 years ago, and finally accepted I was one about 3 years ago. My character was originally created for a RPG, but is my personal furry now. I got the name from my SCA persona, who's basically the same as my furry persona, except for being a furry and some of the history. I finally was able to start MUCKing regularly about 4 months ago. I do art and a bit of writing. My website is at http://starfox.net, including a gallery of most of my artwork. I'm going to be starting college in August, going down to Mississippi. They offered me more money than any college here. :P I'm on FurryMUCK, SPR, and Tapestries(where I met my mate *murr*) as Llewelyn. A fox ranger. He was raised by his parents among the Sidhe, but when he turned 13 they returned to his people, and was given a pair of Broadswords as a parting gift. In his homeland, he learned the ways of the forest. When he turned 17, he left on his Trial, but when he returned, the village was gone, destroyed. He has since discovered that the Broadswords were Soul Swords, and has been trying to master their powers, and prove himself worthy of the gift. Recently, after finding himself on one world, he fell in love with a beautiful black-haired, black furred sable, and took her as his mate. Physical Description (were): I've not changed physically yet, but in dreams I've been in both a tiger form, and a humanoid form with a tiger's fur pattern on my skin. I do have a definite fur pattern... my stripes aren't very thick, and I have quite a bit of white fur on my face and neck, down to my chest and to the insides of my arms and legs and undersides of my paws. Hunting Tips: Distract the target, lull them into a sense of false security. Baffle them with bullshit, and strike. Preferred Method of Attack: Pounce! Favorite Non-Were Mythological Beastie(s): Dragons Feelings Toward Vampires: I can understand the blood sucking thing, biting is actually quite nice, and I can understand the dislike of sunlight as well... But sleeping in coffins, and seemingly enjoying death are two things I simply don't understand. Feelings Toward Humans: For the most part, they are cattle. They assume things instead of getting the facts. They are ignorant and are happy to never be informed. There are exceptions of course, but the majority of them are simply too judgmental, too assuming, too ignorant, and too destructive without care for my tastes. Personal Lycanthropy (This is probably the most important part of the card. What we're after here is a few paragraphs explaining what your lycanthropy means to you, how it fits into and affects you life, your goals, etc. Tell us about your first transformation/realization of your were nature. Describe the lycanthropy myth as you see it. And so on...): For me, it's the belief that I embody the spirit or nature of the tiger. Whether the tiger is a spirit such as in shamanism, or a state of mind, I haven't found enough information on it yet to decide, though in my searching I'm sincerely leaning towards the belief in tiger as a spirit guide or totem. I have distinct feline/tiger traits, and far too many of them for it to be mere coincidence. As far as living as a weretiger, it affects my life on a daily basis. I live day to day instinctively. I don't rely on concentrating on things or following set patterns or rituals, instead I improvise and let my instinct take over for things. I am quite domesticated and very social, which seems to contradict a tiger's nature, but tigers like any feline can learn to be social and be domesticated. I do have an owner, one I am proud of, am quite loyal to, and love very deeply. I eat a little more often than tigers in the wild, since I don't have to worry about a 1 in 20 chance of catching pray when I'm at Burger King or the like! But even so, I don't eat often, but when I do, I eat a large meal. One good sized meal a day is normal for me. I also do not sleep set schedules, and don't need a required amount of time to be active, I can get away with short naps unless I'm highly active for a while... at which point I tend to sleep rather well, for extended hours. I am a clean freak when it comes to my body, I don't like to be dirty in any way. When people talk about working up a good sweat, I can't relate.. I hate messing up my hair or skin, and shower frequently to clean myself.. since in a human form my tongue is quite inadequate. My goal is simple... to live my life as a pet. My realization of being were, was when I was discussing the odd dreams I was having with a friend of mine. In the fall of 1996, for one entire month I would dream scenes from the same dream.. but they were never the same. In the dream, I was still humanoid, but had a tail, and my skin was striped with my fur pattern, and it wasn't makeup, but perhaps a tattoo of some type. I was serving as a pet to a couple in a huge, older style house. I was going to keep the dreams to myself, since it didn't really mean much to me but my friend Rayven was online, and I decided I was going to tell her about it.. Before I got a chance to talk to her about it, she said she had a picture she found while cleaning off her hard drive, and wanted me to see it. She emailed the picture to me, and it was a jpeg of a friend of hers painted head to toe in tiger stripes with theatrical body paint. I completely flipped out, because here I was having these dreams, which were highly interesting, and highly arousing to me.. and I wrote them off as fantasies or goofy dreams, and here was my dream sitting right in front of me, telling me I can have it if I want it. After a few shots of Jack to calm down and stop shaking and crying, I talked with Deb for hours about things. She showed me the AHWW FAQ, and told me about spiritual therianthropy. She offered to help, and teach me anything I asked that she knew about. Since that day, I've been pursuing this pet lifestyle, with hopes of one day living that dream 24/7. As far as the lycanthropy myth, I see it as simple rationalization for things humans do not understand. Their religons are based around providing answers to questions one could not answer with knowledge, logic, or common sense. The Greeks believed the Sun was Apollo riding his chariot across the sky, and people today find it difficult to understand that people would believe such things. To me, Christianity is simply another form of mythology, and the bible an ancient book of etiquette. Some myths are designed to frighten people away however, and some of the darker stories by vampires or werewolves could simply be fairy tales manufactured to scare people away. Personally, the farther away the stereotypical humans are from me, the better I like things, so I see the need for the lycanthropy myths all too well. Quite simply, people will believe what they believe, no matter what the truth is. While you can try and educate their opinions toward things with fact, so many people are simply too stubborn to admit they're wrong, or can't open their mind to different possibilities. I say, let there be myth.. for the truth will always be there for those who are willing to seek it and accept it. =========================================
